Our Story
A map built from actual mileage
GeoMapGuide started as a shared spreadsheet of gas stops and detours between three friends who kept driving the same cross-country routes for work. Somewhere around the fortieth trip, the spreadsheet turned into a website.
Every region page, state guide, and route on this site is written by someone who has driven it — not assembled from satellite imagery and press releases. If a road is closed for the season or a scenic byway turns to gravel after mile marker 12, we say so.
- 01Independent. No paid placements decide what ranks in our region or state guides.
- 02Field-checked. Routes get re-driven and re-timed roughly once a year.
- 03Specific. We'd rather tell you the one detour worth taking than list every possible option.
